Many years ago, while on my way home from school, someone in my carpool pulled a Prairie Kingsnake out of his book bag. My original reaction was WOW!, and I've been hopelessly hooked ever since. That was 24 years ago. Over the last 24 years, I have dabbled in so many aspects of the reptile world that I can't even begin to list them all. I quit my full time job to work part time for guy who sold wholesale to petshops. I was the Vice President for 4 years and President for 2 years in the St. Louis Herpetological Society and have maintained my membership since the early 80's. I've kept and/or bred many herps from blue tongue skinks to leopard geckos, corns and kings. Over the last 18 years or so, I've been working with my real love...Boa Constrictors. With the colors, morphs, patterns, etc....I'm sure I will be busy for years to come producing new and exciting boas. I still dabble a little with Ball Pythons, Garter Snakes, and Blue Tongue Skinks. I've met many very cool and interesting people on this journey, but none quite like Mike Webers (whom I met about 8 years ago) and Matt Filla,(7 years ago). These are the guys that put up with all my antics and with whom I've spent days with behind the table at all the shows we vend. I not only sold them their first snakes, but also have learned as much from them as I have on my own. Mike has developed his interest, and is quite successful with breeding the Western Hognose snake. He has a beautiful collection and probably the healthiest animals of anyone I've ever known. Matt, has developed his interest and been successful with Corns, Boas, and most recently, Phelsuma and other hard to find geckos. I never thought I'd go back to being associated with gecko sales, but Matt's been such a huge help to me that he's become part of the family. I must say thanks to my parents for allowing me to be the person that I was growing up with herps. I also can't forget my wife and daughters who for many years have tolorated, on occasion, strange smells in the house and days without me while I clean cages or drive hours away to sell or buy more snakes. These are the people and reasons why the "Reptile Shed" is what it is today! God's Blessings on them all. Chris
